Juan José de Torres Romo


Degree in Economics and Business Science, with extensive experience as a consultant in the feasibility and refloating of businesses, and closely linked to the private and public sector financial world. In the leisure industry since 2001 with the design and implementation of the Strategic Management Plan for the Oceanográfic de Valencia, as Managing Director from 2002-2007. He oversees the opening and start of activities from 2002, achieving more than 2 million visitors the first year and an annual average of over 1.4 million for the 4 years under his management. The results beat profitability expectations during all financial periods.

In mid-2007 he joined Parque Warner Madrid as General Director, occupying the position until 2009. Responsible for the design and implementation of the new Strategic Plan, he handles resizing and restructuring of the company, managing to free the park from it’s traditional losses, and positioning it as one of the most profitable in Spain.

In 2009 he joins the Board of Terra Mítica and becomes the CEO. Based on a new Strategic Plan he achieves a significant improvement in results for 2009 and 2010.

In early 2011, he begins professional activities in Italy as General Director of the  Alfapark Leisure Group, which controls two theme parks.

Responsible for the opening of the first theme park in Rome, Rainbow Magicland and the development and implementation of a feasibility plan for Miragica,a park in the south of Italy, in Molfetta (Bari).

Specializing in strategic marketing and leisure and tourism centre management. For the last 14 years her career has been continuously focused on the world of marketing in the leisure industry, whether cultural, sports or tourist.

Commercial and Marketing Director at the Oceanográfic de Valencia, designing and executing marketing and sales strategies from the start of activities.

In 2009, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Formula 1 European Grand Prix,  implementing the second and third edition of the Valencia Street Circuit, managing more than 100,000 visitors and developing sponsorship programs, advertising campaigns, communication and marketing.

In 2010, Director of Communications and Marketing for the City of Arts and Sciences  Valencia, Europe’s most important cultural leisure center, with over 3 and a half million visitors a year. She also held responsibility for sponsorship and coordination of large events.
